About me and my journey

Get to know me

Welcome to Netter Fitness. My name is Miranda and I grew up in a small town in Northern California. In fact, I still live in the same quaint little tourist town and am now raising a family here with my husband. We met in our late teens and moved in together after a couple years. In 2003, we moved back to my hometown. A couple of years after that, we started a family and got married.

Fitness was never really forefront in my early life. Several attempts were made at getting fit over the years; gym memberships, running, fad diets. I was not ready…. I gave up easily because I wanted quick results. Once I realized that the change had to first come from within, that’s when everything clicked.

How did I get here….?

For as long as I can remember, including up to this current date, I've struggled with my weight. The two pictures to the right were taken just over a year apart (left, 6/2016, right 8/2017). At almost 200lbs (I’m only 5’2”), while appearing happy, I was in a terrible place mentally and every time I tried a new “diet” and "failed", my frustrations would grow. I always turned to my favorite thing.... Food! And that was not helpful because it was never the right foods, either. I love carbs!

I didn't know what else to try. I hated running and going to the gym and lifting weights was definitely NOT my thing. The impact on my knees and ankles from running was too much for me as I spent entirely too much time on my butt. Then, my husband Jimmy told me about his friend, Anne, who was opening a hot yoga studio and suggested I give it a try. So the seed was planted. Anne and I connected via social media and she gave me a little insight as to what I would be expecting. I was nervous and excited. Scared. And incredibly hopeful. Little did I know what a tremendous impact Inferno Hot Pilates and Yoga would have on my life.

What will I gain…?

My journey began on January 9th, 2017. The first class I took was so hard! I was sore for a week and questioned even returning. But with the encouragement of my family and my true desire to finally make a breakthrough, I returned. Each week I felt myself getting stronger and I was committed to 3 classes a week by the end of the month. I started slimming down in my legs, my shoulders, my back and my waist. Something was happening, and it was AMAZING! And I felt amazing!!! For the first time I felt like I had found the answer.

After 7 months, I could honestly say it WAS the answer for me. I had lost over 25lbs and several inches from my entire body. I dropped down 2 pants sizes and 2 sizes in tops and dresses. My arms were taking shape and…. I HAD MUSCLES! My DETERMINATION was stronger than ever. So strong that I decided to take the Inferno Hot Pilates teacher training so I could help others feel this amazing too!

Where will this go…?

Once the wheels were in motion, there was no stopping me. I had made up my mind. I made arrangements to pay for my IHP teacher training for September 2017, only 9 months into my journey. I knew that sharing this amazing feeling was something I had to do. Although completely freaked out, I dove right into teaching my first class 2 days after training. I spent the next year getting really comfortable writing classes and working out the timing of my playlists. When the next level of training was available to advance my knowledge, I did not hesitate to sign up.

In addition to Inferno Hot Pilates, I was also gradually easing myself into a few yoga classes. Yoga was always interesting because, to me, it looked like a dance. A beautiful flow of the body moving from one pose to another. In 2020, I was presented with an opportunity to pursue my yoga certification and again, without hesitation, signed myself up. Little did I know, there was so much more to Yoga just how it looked at a glance. In conjunction with my Inferno Hot Pilates training, my newly acquired Yoga knowledge only enhanced what I already knew about alignment and how to properly engage your body to not only protect yourself from injury, but to also be more efficient and effective during every motion.

These 2 forms of fitness have been a life saver for me and I couldn’t imagine where I’d be right now if I hadn’t done that super scary thing and committed 100% to my health and well-being all those years ago.

What is she up to now?

Fast forward to 2023! We’ve just emerged from a pandemic and everything has changed. Studios were forced to close and the access to fitness classes was slim in the area. This is when I knew something had to be done. I looked into locations to open a studio and at the time I did not have the capital to dive in full steam, so I researched some options. That is when I found the Hot Yoga Dome! Something affordable that still provided a quality space to offer Pilates and Yoga while still being able to supply that much desired heat and humidity level you would find in a hot yoga studio.

With a plan in motion, now I needed to find a location. That’s when one of my students, Peggy, presented me with an offer I couldn’t refuse. She said “I have a beautiful ranch, along the foothills of Mt St. Helena, that would be a perfect backdrop for your mobile studio.” And just like that, a partnership was born. The mobile studio was a hit and we had a solid group joining classes weekly. Unfortunately, without having an indoor space, the mobile studio was only available when the weather permitted. With wind and rain becoming a factor, the mobile was tucked away for winter.

Moving ahead to present time, I was surprised again with another amazing opportunity. This time, the opportunity was presented as an alternative to the mobile studio by taking my classes indoors. Still at the same gorgeous location, but now we’re available to students year round, wind, rain and definitely SHINE!
